Maninplace is a dynamic, busy charity and not for profit community interest company committed to providing safe and secure accommodation for people who present as rough living or homeless within the borough of Telford and Wrekin.
Offering a variety of accommodation and support services tailored to the individual, Maninplace seeks to reduce a return to homelessness for anyone accessing its services, as well as encourage, motivate and enable individuals to reach their full potential.
As Caretaker & Life Coach, you will ensure our assisted living accommodation is maintained to a high standard of health & safety, cleanliness and decoration throughout all communal areas and private accommodation, in addition to presenting a well maintained garden and outdoor space for customers to enjoy.
But you will not do this alone, as a life coach you will work to a person centred approach that encourages our customers to be fully involved in the maintenance and upkeep of their home, teaching valuable skills that promote independence, self-motivation, confidence and a feeling of inclusion within their local community. You will be a vital link in the chain that propels customers from a history of homelessness and challenging lifestyles, to a future of self-sustainment and success.
You will be an enthusiastic, resilient and flexible person who relates well to people from all sectors of society and with a variety of backgrounds and support needs. Your strong motivation and confidence will be key to the success of this role and of our customers.
£12,745 - £13,572 per annum based on experience and qualifications. Access to work based pension is available after successful completion of probationary period.
Qualifications & experience
Proven experience within a caretaking role and/or coaching position. Experience of general maintenance and decorating, minor plumbing work and garden maintenance are essential. Qualifications and training within a support environment would be desirable. GCSE Maths & English at grade C or above. Full UK driving licence with use of own vehicle is essential.
Accommodation Based Support Team Leader
Based at a property in south Telford, working at other locations within the borough.
30 hours per week over five days, with shifts ranging between 08:00 and 21:30. May include weekend work.
